Re-imagining of The Snow Queen: site specific art, video, poetry and music installation
Since June 21st/Summer Solstice I have been involved in the Arts Council funded collaborative project with poet Maria Jastrzebska, composer Peter Copley, photographer and filmmaker Wendy Pye and director Mark Hewitt. We have been researching and developing material for Snow Q – our project to re-imagine Hans Christian Andersen’s story The Snow Queen along contemporary themes. The culmination of this process was a work-in-progress collaborative installation featuring poetry, performance, music, art and video at the Basement of the Regency Town House on Winter Solstice. Here you can read about our 6 months journey of our research and development which involved workshops with the Young Carers, my conversation with The Synergy Group and Maria’s work with the Older and Out and members of the Polish community. There is also a short film which introduces our project.
